The Q-Turn is a mattress top sheet with built-in inflatable wedge supports, designed to make it easier and safer to move and turn patients. Bedridden patients are at risk of developing pneumonia, urinary tract infections, blood clots, back pain, muscle contractures, painful pressure ulcers that can get infected, constipation, and other complications caused by decreased mobility. Turning and repositioning patients every two hours is one of the best ways to prevent complications, but it is an extremely challenging task for healthcare providers, especially solo caretakers, to perform. The Q-Turn solves this problem with built-in pneumatic wedges that inflate at a 60° angle to turn a patient to one side, making it easy for healthcare providers to regularly rotate, clean, and care for patients every two hours with just one push of a button. The Q-Turn inflates via air compressor and can lift patients of average weight, as well as bariatric patients. The Q-Turn can also be used to assist bed-to-bed transfers, and has secure safety straps to keep patients stable when the wedges are inflated, so patients won’t roll or slip unexpectedly, or fall off the bed.
